CNG Brings Natural Gas Service to Bolton, CT
EAST HARTFORD, CT — July 17, 2018 — As AVANGRID, Inc. (NYSE: AGR) continues to expand its natural gas footprint across Connecticut, subsidiary Connecticut Natural Gas today announced it has expanded service to the town of Bolton.
Construction on a new, 7.4-mile natural gas main was completed last month, and gas is now flowing to eight municipal buildings in the Town Center. The expansion project means customers along the gas main’s route through Bolton now have the option of switching to the clean-burning, affordable and reliable fuel for heating and other needs.

Work on the new natural gas main started in 2016 and was completed in June. It extends along Route 85 from Hebron, passing through the center of town into Manchester. It serves eight municipal buildings, including the town hall, elementary school, fire department, library, Resident State Trooper’s office, the senior/municipal complex, the town garage and the parks garage. All were converted to use natural gas heat in 2017.
The new main also serves the car-care products company Simoniz, and makes natural gas an option for 50 businesses and as many as 175 residences along the route.

The project adds to an expanding map for CNG and its Orange-based AVANGRID sister company, SCG. Since 2014, the two companies have brought service into six new communities in central and eastern Connecticut. CNG introduced service in Coventry and Hebron last year, and brought natural gas to East Hampton in 2015. SCG added Essex and Deep River to its service territory in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
